History

Fascinating World was founded in 2022 by Krishna Rathuryan, a student at the Hun School of Princeton, under the banner of Fascinating World Media (FWM). Initially focused on history content, the platform has expanded into politics, finance, science, and aviation. It is run by a small team of high school students and has garnered over 110 million views across social media, with 10,000 website visits per month.

Funded by / Ownership

Fascinating World is privately operated by Rathuryan and his team. There is a lack of transparency regarding funding and monetization. The site contains no ads, donation prompts, or formal disclosures of revenue streams. While there is no indication of external financial backing, the platform benefits from SEO optimization and substantial social media reach, which could be leveraged for future monetization.

Analysis / Bias

While the site positions itself as an educational resource, its political coverage displays a left-leaning bias. For example, the article analyzing Donald Trump’s proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill” is titled provocatively and uses negative framing, referring to it as potentially “a disgusting abomination.” The article is grounded in references to nonpartisan institutions like the Congressional Budget Office, yet editorial language—such as claims that it “widens the income inequality gap” and may “collapse the American social safety net”—indicates a clear ideological stance.

By contrast, many other articles are apolitical or educational in nature. These include pieces like “Everything You Need to Know About How Airplanes Actually Fly” and the quiz “How Well Do You Know the U.S. Presidents?”, which show no political lean and are focused on factual knowledge delivery.

The site claims all content is fact-checked by its internal editorial team.
