Explanation: PolitiFact found that the Trump administration—under RFK Jr.’s leadership at HHS—terminated or froze thousands of NIH grants, halted clinical trials, cut mRNA research funding, and disrupted the studies of more than 74,000 trial participants. Roughly 2,500 grants remain halted, and many reinstated projects suffered long-term damage.
