Claim: Gen Z is more addicted to alcohol than any other generation.


Rating: BLATANT LIE


Explanation: Federal survey data show heavy drinking among ages 18–25 declined from 17.7% in 2002 to 14.4% in 2024. A 2025 Gallup poll found only half of adults ages 18–34 drink alcohol, compared with 56% of those 35 and older. Alcohol use disorder rates are lower for Gen Z than earlier generations at the same age, and alcohol consumption is at historic lows across age groups.
