Analysis / Bias

EIR News has been significantly influenced by the views of its founder, Lyndon LaRouche, a controversial political activist. LaRouche’s ideas, praised by figures like Jesse Ventura and Roger Stone, contribute to the publication’s editorial stance. The magazine frequently critiques Western governments and mainstream media, promoting alternative viewpoints and conspiracy theories.

EIR News often covers geopolitical conflicts, economic policies, and international relations from a perspective that is critical of neoliberalism and supportive of multipolar world dynamics. For instance, the article “Malaysia Decides To Join the BRICS” reflects EIR’s support for BRICS, emphasizing how the organization’s rise counters Western dominance.

While EIR can produce neutral articles, particularly in straightforward reporting scenarios—such as the “Chinese and U.S. Readouts of Biden-Xi Phone Call,” which presents both sides of a diplomatic conversation—many of its articles align with specific viewpoints. For example, the article “Biden’s National Security Advisor Escalates War Against Russia” critiques U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s statements about supporting Ukraine against Russia.  The article references an interview with PBS NewsHour. It uses direct quotes from Sullivan to frame its argument, emphasizing the aggressive stance of the U.S. and framing it as a warmongering policy.

Additionally, the article  “Investigative Leads: Biden, Between a BlackRock and a Hard Place” uses sources with strong opinions to build a narrative that reflects a bias toward alternative viewpoints. The article cites the New York Times, Seymour Hersh, and Wikipedia to build its narrative.

Finally, the website has promoted conspiracy theories, such as Grayzone’s Blumenthal and Maté Report U.S. False Flag Operations To Block Earthquake Aid. Grayzone is rated as a conspiracy website, and there is no evidence to support the claims.
