Daily News Bin – Bias and Credibility

Daily News Bin - Left BiasFactual Reporting: Mixed - Not always Credible or Reliable

LEFT BIAS

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation.  They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Factual Reporting: MIXED

The Daily News Bin is a web-based news and politics website. It has a strong left-wing bias through report choices that favor the left and uses strong loaded words in headlines and reports. For example, on December 14, 2016 there is an Op-Ed with the headline: “Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are simply anti-American terrorists.” The use of the words “anti-American terrorists” is a classic use of loaded words to entice clicks.  According to Web of Trust the Daily News Bin has been flagged for trustworthiness based on misleading claims and being unethical. Snopes has rated three stories as false in 2016. According to our user ratings, Daily News Bin has been rated as Extreme Left biased 76% of the time.  When reporting the news the Daily News Bin uses mostly neutral headlines and sources information to credible media. The problem with Daily News Bin is their over-the-top political bias on opinion pieces, overshadows their often excellent journalism in news reporting. (D. Van Zandt 8/21/2016)

Update: On 12/16/16 Bill Palmer, the owner of Daily News Bin contacted me via our contact form and then via email.  Mr. Palmer demanded that I either change his rating, provide evidence for my rating or remove his listing from the website.  Mr. Palmer addressed me with profanity and threatened to have my website shut down.  I then provided the evidence that Mr. Palmer requested as you can see above.  Several hours later I received two more profanity-laced E-mails where I was threatened that if I did not remove my entire website from the internet he will “ruin my life.” I am not sure what Mr. Palmer meant by stating he would “ruin my life,” but it clearly is a direct threat of some kind directed at me personally.  Despite that, I again reached out to Mr. Palmer requesting that he refute the evidence I presented.  I offered to change his rating if he did so. Instead, Mr. Palmer published an article on his Daily News Bin website where he falsely claimed my website is fake.  He provided zero evidence to support this assertion.  The title of the article speaks volumes about Mr. Palmer’s journalistic integrity. You may read it here: Fake security site “Media Bias Fact Check” is just one guy running a malicious scam.  Mr. Palmer posted his opinion piece regarding this website as actual news.  He did not place it in his opinion column, which is where it belongs. Mr. Palmer is entitled to his opinion and may express it as he sees fit.  He should however indicate it is his opinion and not actually grounded in fact.  The fact that Mr. Palmer would resort to this type of behavior and deception renders his website and his journalism as not credible.  I have kept Mr. Palmer’s E-mails and hopefully, he understands that the words and threats he chose to make will ultimately hurt only him.

Update: As of 6/23/17 Daily News Bin is offline. It appears Mr. Palmer is now publishing exclusively on the Palmer Report.
