A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

Reasoning: Extreme Right, Propaganda, Anti-Islam, Hate Group

Notes: Britain First is a far-right and British ultranationalist political party and movement formed in 2011 by former members of the British National Party (BNP). The party was founded by Jim Dowson, an anti-abortion campaigner linked to Ulster loyalist groups in Northern Ireland. Britain First campaigns primarily against multiculturalism and what it sees as the Islamisation of the United Kingdom, and advocates the preservation of traditional British culture. In reviewing their news content, it is clear that this source has a very strong anti-Islamic bias. Britain First has a poor track record with fact checkers due to their promotion of propaganda and have also failed several fact checks from UK based checkers such as this one. The Britain First leader has also been found guilty of committing a hate crime. In summary, this is a far right nationalist group with a very strong anti-immigrant bias that some classify as a hate group. (D. Van Zandt 7/14/2017) Updated (3/7/2018)
