The AV Club is owned by G/O Media Inc., a media company that runs Gizmodo, Kotaku, Jezebel, The Onion, and other sister websites. G/O was formed in early 2019 when Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm, purchased the websites from Univision. Revenue is derived from advertising, sponsored content, and sales of merchandise.
Analysis / Bias
In review, AV Club reports news on entertainment, conducts interviews, and offers reviews. Entertainment news is published with minimal bias, such as this: Mike Schur on making The Judge’s dreams come true with a surprise Good Place cameo.
