LEFT-CENTER BIAS

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH

Notes: Atlantic Media owns the following sources: www.govexec.com, www.nextgov.com, www.routefifty.com, qz.com, www.nationaljournal.com, www.theatlantic.com, www.citylab.com, www.defenseone.com. They borrow writers and share stories depending on the contact they are going with.  For example, an article on www.defenseone.com uses an article from www.nextgov.com  the writer is Joseph Marks – who covers cybersecurity for Nextgov. He previously covered cybersecurity for Politico. The sites all seem to have particular themes they focus on. Government, military, cyber, city, etc. Atlantic Media is the main company and keeps all these “brands” under that umbrella sharing writers and sources. Overall they are well sourced, truth filled, and lean slightly left. (M. Allen 5/13/2017)
