Founded as a Facebook page in 2015 by Dan Broadbent, Alternative Science is a satirical website and Facebook page. The website does not have an about page, however according to their Facebook page: “Alternative Science is the World Wide Internet’s premier and most trusted location for alternative facts and embracing your feelings. Whether or not the scientific facts, studies, or statements represented on Alternative Science are technically “true” or “accurate,” savvy readers know that doesn’t matter – only what they feel should be true is.” Further, the website features the tagline “Don’t conflate YOUR fact with my FEELINGS.”

The website is owned by Not Narrow or Straight, LLC. Revenue is derived from the sale of T-shirts on their Facebook page.



Analysis / Bias

In review, Alternative Science publishes satirical content that pokes fun at pseudoscience and in particular the Trump administration and conservatives. For example these: Trump: “I Could Lynch Someone on 5th Avenue, But That Doesn’t Mean I’m Racist, Does It?” and Pictures Confirm Black Hole Swallowing Charlie Kirk’s Face. Although, Alternative Science does not disclaim they are a satire website, the name alone implies it.
