The “fact check” on the Renee Good story is a grotesque lie!!! The author of that “fact check” clearly has a far left bias that she doesn’t even try to hide. I checked her Twitter account. She’s a communist activist. Maybe don’t allow such individuals to “fact check”?
A precise analysis of the video – as done, among others, by Tim Pool, shows that Renee Good backed up, positioned the car to aim straight at the agent who had been to the right of her car, then accelerated. One can see the wheels pointing straight forward as they are spinning out on the ice. If there had been no ice, the car would have lurched forward, crushing the ICE agent.
Her engine must have been roaring loudly as she tried to accelerate. In any case, that’s the moment when the agent pulled his gun and that’s when Renee Good decided to turn right.
The car had finally moved forward and DID hit the agent. His medical certificate, just published by CBS, shows that he suffered internal bleeding.
If there had been no ice, he would probably bee dead.
He fired a shot through her windscreen, i.e. when the car was clearly pointing straight at him and she had pushed the gas pedal – or her wheels would not have been spinning!
So it was 100% a case of legitimate self-defense. Renee Good could simply have complied and stepped out of the car. She would have been arrested and fined for her illegal actions to block ICE from arresting a convicted criminal.
Also check out Minnesota Statutes 609.066, signed by Tim Walz. It specifically addresses the situation where an officer is standing in front of a vehicle that accelerates towards him. This is considered a life threatening situation and authorizes the use of deadly force. That law alone is sufficient to end the debate if the officer’s action was legal.
