Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

Claim by Chiropractor  Bryan Ardis: “Nicotine cures Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, and is a treatment for autism.”

Science Feedback rating: Unsupported (No scientific evidence shows nicotine cures these diseases. Small or flawed studies are misrepresented, and large high-quality studies show no benefit for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, autism, or multiple sclerosis. Limited evidence suggests nicotine may slightly improve ulcerative colitis symptoms but not better than standard treatments and with significant side effects.)

No evidence for chiropractor Bryan Ardis’ claim that nicotine cures Parkinson’s and other diseases

FALSE (International: Australia): The coalition cut $20 million a year from Foodbank funding.

AAP rating: False (While Foodbank’s federal funding fell, it was not in the region of $20 million annually.)
