Fact Check Search

Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

NO
EVIDENCE
Claim via Social Media: Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a secret Grindr account, as alleged by TikTok user @razzledazzlemo.

Snopes rating: Unverified (There is no credible evidence that Mike Johnson ever had a Grindr account. The TikTok user who made the claim has provided no proof, and no reputable media outlet has corroborated it. The user has, however, raised over $29,000 through GoFundMe for “legal expenses.” Snopes notes there is not enough verified evidence to confirm or debunk the rumor.)

Baseless rumor about Mike Johnson’s alleged Grindr account keeps spreading online

Lead Stories rating: False (She never revealed that.)

TRUE Claim via Social Media: A man in Tennessee was jailed for posting a meme deriding President Donald Trump following Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Snopes rating: True (Larry Bushart was arrested in late September 2025 by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office after posting a meme referencing Trump and a 2024 school shooting. Authorities charged him with making “threats of mass violence on school property.” The charge was dropped on Oct. 29, and Bushart was released after being held on a $2 million bond.)

MISEADING Claim by Scott Bessent (R): “Overall, the inflation since President Trump” took office “has come down.”

Has inflation eased under Trump? It depends on the measure

Congressive

Be more careful playing into narratives, i.e. ANTIFA wasn’t designated a “domestic terror group” because it is not a group at all. Your answer implies that it is an organization, which is the intent of the creators of this falsehood. It’s like declaring Media Bias Fact Check a terrible travel agency, and you respond it is not a terrible travel agency. The truth is it is not a travel agency at all.
