Fact Check Search

Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

Claim by MAGA Kentucky: Rep. Thomas Massie voted against President Trump’s tax cuts.

Claim by Donald Trump (R): In 2016, after Donald Trump won the presidency, then-President Barack Obama was “trying to lead a coup” with Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Trump falsely twists Obama-era assessment of Russian election interference as a ‘coup’

Donald Trump Rating

FALSE (International: United Kingdom): 900,000 people have cancelled the BBC licence fee in a year.

Full Fact rating: False (There was no evidence for this claim when it was first made, and according to the latest figures, the total number of TV licences (including those paid for by the BBC) actually fell by around 300,000 between March 2024 and March 2025. The data doesn’t differentiate between licences cancelled by individuals themselves or by TV licensing.)
