Alex Jones Accused of Fraudulent Transfers to Evade $1.3 Billion Verdict

Infowars host Alex Jones is facing allegations of fraudulent asset transfers aimed at evading the $1.3 billion judgment awarded to Sandy Hook families in a defamation lawsuit. U.S. bankruptcy trustee Christopher Murray has filed three suits claiming Jones transferred about $5 million in cash, property, and vehicles to relatives, including his ex-wife, father, and a trust for his children. Americans Trust Local News Despite Industry’s Decline

Despite widespread distrust in national news, Americans continue to trust local journalism. A 2024 Pew survey showed 74% trust in local news versus just 32% for national outlets. However, the local news industry is shrinking—over 3,200 local papers have closed since 2005, and circulation continues to fall. Financial instability has created “news deserts” and reduced coverage of local government. While most Americans value local news, only 23% pay for it.
