Pew Research Reveals Stark Partisan Divide in News Source Trust

A new interactive tool from the Pew Research Center highlights how Democrats and Republicans engage with vastly different media ecosystems. Based on a March 2025 survey of 9,482 U.S. adults, the tool tracks trust and usage across 30 news sources. Key findings show that Democrats trust and consume a wider array of media, while Republicans rely on fewer outlets and view many mainstream sources with skepticism. Notably, both Fox News and CNN have some ideological crossover, with roughly one-fifth of each party’s affiliates consuming content from the other. Google Must Face Privacy Lawsuit Over Health Data Tracking

A federal judge has ruled that Google must face claims related to alleged unauthorized data collection from healthcare websites, including Planned Parenthood, via its analytics tools. The decision applies to data gathered before Google updated its instructions to healthcare sites in 2023. Plaintiffs argue that data such as pages visited could be linked to users via IP addresses. Judge Vince Chhabria found it plausible that Google’s broad data access could tie such information to identifiable individuals, although he doubted plaintiffs could prove Google’s intent. CNN’s Five-Year Plan for Digital Transformation Begins with Weather App

CNN is embarking on a five-year strategy to establish a paid digital subscription model, beginning with a weather-focused vertical set to launch this year. Spearheaded by Alex MacCallum, EVP of Digital Products, the plan draws inspiration from The New York Times’ diversified digital offerings. The approach includes bundling and à la carte options across multiple verticals, with around 15 content types under development.
