FALSE Claim via Social Media: Multiple entries of the same “Voter ID” casting ballots from different addresses on the same date in Michigan’s Qualified Voter File indicate potential fraud.

Lead Stories rating: False (Only One Vote. The Qualified Voter File only allows one ballot per voter per election. A spokesperson explained that “formatting errors” in displaying the database incorrectly showed that “individual voters were casting multiple ballots in this election.”

FALSE Claim via Social Media: Nissan announced 9,000 layoffs in TN to avoid losses from Trump’s tariffs.

USA Today rating: False (A company spokesperson said the proposed layoffs have nothing to do with Trump’s plan to raise tariffs. The 9,000 figure also includes employees worldwide, not just in the Tennessee or the U.S.)

Claim via Social Media: “The Associated Press misspelled Mississippi in a headline about the state’s literacy program.”

PolitiFact rating: False (Records confirm the AP never published the misspelled headline. A spokesperson for the AP stated the claim is inaccurate. The earliest instance of the misspelled headline appeared on YouTube in 2010, years after the story’s original publication, and there is no evidence linking the error to the AP.)
