The question, “Which of the following news stories from this past week is true?” reminds me of a suggestion I’ve had before. The way some questions are worded, it sometimes seems there might be more than one correct answer. That’s especially true when checkboxes are used to select answers. It’s not a perfect example, because if more than one choice were allowed, you’d probably ask “Which… news stories ARE true?” But checkboxes usually suggest you can choose all that apply. On this website checkboxes behave more like radio buttons. I’ve taken enough quizzes here to realize that, but it did trip me up once. 🙂 New users especially might be surprised to see their options taken away as soon as they make their first choice. Not a big deal; just a thought.
