Biden’s Campaign-Style Distortions

Claim by Climate Change is Crap: “Believing CO2 controls the climate is pretty close to believing in magic.”

Climate Feedback rating: Inaccurate (Several independent lines of scientific evidence based on observational datasets and modeling indicate that current climate change is driven by human emissions of greenhouse gases such as CO2. Scientific evidence shows that changes in all other potential climate variables are insufficient to explain modern warming.)

Scientific evidence indicates that modern warming is driven by CO2, contrary to Richard Lindzen’s claim

MISLEADING Claim by Donald Trump (R): Donald Trump Polling “Through The Roof” Since FBI Raid.

Newsweek rating: Misleading (While some polls suggest that Trump saw a boost in partisan support, overall his electoral appeal appears to have either remained largely the same or decreased.)

Fact Check: Is Donald Trump’s Popularity ‘Through The Roof’ Since FBI Raid?

FALSE Claim by Adam Laxalt (R): The public health order Title 42 is “the last tool Border Patrol has to stop the overwhelming flood of illegal immigrants pouring into our country.”

Politifact rating: False (Title 42 is a public health policy intended to prevent the introduction of a contagious disease into the U.S. through immigration. Physical barriers, surveillance technology, expedited removals and legal consequences for repeat border crossers are also options available to Border Patrol to control the flow of people across the border.)

Title 42 is not ‘the last tool’ Border Patrol has to prevent illegal immigration

Claim via Social Media: Image shows Fox News segment on “gay hypnosis.”

USA Today rating: False (Altered)

Fact check: Fake image shows ‘gay hypnosis’ segment on cable outlet

FALSE (International: Australia): Unvaccinated people are not dying from COVID-19.

Australian Associated Press rating: False (Health data show unvaccinated people are more likely to die from the virus than the vaccinated.)

  1. I find your editorial writing style tough to read. It’s often overly repetitive for no clear purpose, odd word choices such as “utilize” (to choke on) instead of the simpler “uses.” Why write, “…appeal to emotion…” when a simple and clearer “emotional appeal” would do nicely?
