Trump attacks Mueller probe at joint press conference with Putin, advances conspiracy theories about 2016 election

President Donald Trump, speaking at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, blasted special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Moscow’s election meddling and possible collusion by the Trump campaign.

Trump said the Mueller probe has had a “negative impact” on U.S.-Russia relations, adding: “The probe is a disaster for our country. It’s kept us separated.” Putin denied interfering in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump also advanced several conspiracy theories related to the election, asking about 33,000 Hillary Clinton emails he claimed are missing, the whereabouts of a computer server of the Democratic National Committee and the activities of a former House Democratic staffer who some conspiracy theorists have alleged penetrated lawmakers’ computers, although a federal prosecutor said there’s no evidence for such claims.

  1. Yet, a year and a half after the election, no one figured out just how Russia supposedly hacked into, interfered with, influenced, stole, etc., the election. Never mind that every allegation to date has been investigated and fell flat under the weight of the facts — the Dem loyalists WANT to believe…
