Five dead, others injured in mass shooting at Maryland newspaper; suspect is in custody

A shooting at an Annapolis, Maryland, newspaper Thursday afternoon left at least five people dead, authorities said.

The suspect is in custody and being interrogated by law enforcement, the authorities said.

A reporter for the Capital Gazette recounted the shooting on Twitter. “Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees,” Phil Davis said. “Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad.”
