President Donald Trump on Thursday announced he will grant a full pardon to conservative commentator, writer and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, who pleaded guilty in 2014 to making an illegal campaign contribution.
“He was treated very unfairly by our government,” Trump said of D’Souza, who has been criticized for divisive comments about the 9/11 attacks, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and for recently mocking survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S. shooting in Parkland, Fla.
