History
The Sanity Project is a Canadian political commentary and analysis publication founded by Bo Kauffmann in late 2025. It publishes newsletters, fact checks, political analysis, and a companion podcast focused primarily on Canadian politics, economics, energy, sovereignty, human rights, and Canada-U.S. relations.
According to its About page, Kauffmann previously spent 24 years with the Winnipeg Police Service and approximately two decades in real estate. He is also the publisher of Ashwood Publishing and operates several other online publications.

The Sanity Project describes itself as “not left or right,” emphasizing evidence, rational discussion, and opposition to misinformation. However, its political story selection and commentary consistently lean liberal or progressive.
For example, Alberta Didn’t Just Slow Down Renewables. It Turned Against Its Own Boom strongly criticizes Alberta’s conservative government for its renewable-energy policies and argues that political ideology and fossil-fuel interests contributed to the province’s regulatory approach.
Likewise, I Read America’s 92-Page Forced Labour Report and the Hypocrisy Left Me Speechless strongly criticizes U.S. trade policy while citing the U.S. Trade Representative, constitutional language, congressional records, the Economic Policy Institute, Walk Free, and other sources.
