Newtral is a Spanish journalism, fact-checking, audiovisual production, media literacy, and technology company founded in January 2018 by journalist Ana Pastor. According to its Who We Are page, Newtral works in television and streaming production, fact-checking, media literacy, and artificial intelligence tools for verification and disinformation analysis.
Newtral publishes fact checks, political claim verifications, explanatory journalism, data visualizations, investigations, and media-literacy content. It states that its verification team was the first Spanish signatory to the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) in 2017, originally through the team working from El Objetivo. Newtral also works with Meta and TikTok on anti-disinformation programs in Spain.
