Notes: MinnPost is a nonprofit online newspaper in Minneapolis, founded in 2007, with a focus on Minnesota news. According to their about page: “MinnPost provides news and analysis based on reporting by professional journalists, many of whom have decades of experience in the Twin Cities media. MinnPost adheres to the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.” They also disclose their funding on the about page.
In review, MinnPost publishes a wide variety of news concerning Minnesota, ranging from politics to the environment. There is little use of loaded language and all information is sourced properly. There is a left leaning political bias as most stories favor the left, in particular when it comes to the environment. A factual search reveals they have never failed a fact check.
Overall, we rate the MinnPost Left-Center Biased based on story selection that slightly favors the left and High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing. (D. Van Zandt 5/12/2018)
