Claim via Social Media
Posts across TikTok, Instagram, and X claimed in June 2025 that Disney World banned visitors from wearing “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats, with some alleging violators would be detained and banned from all Disney theme parks for at least a year.
Explanation
This claim is false and originated as satire. It was first published by Mouse Trap News, a self-described parody site. The website’s About page clearly states:
“We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff… anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate.”
Mouse Trap News published the claim on its website, TikTok, and Instagram accounts with captions like “BREAKING: Disney World Bans MAGA Hat in Their Parks!” These posts falsely claimed that anyone wearing a MAGA hat would be removed and banned.
The site has a history of publishing fabricated Disney content, including stories about ride tipping and driver bans at Tomorrowland Speedway. All their platforms—including TikTok, Instagram, and X—feature the tagline: “Real Disney News That is 100% FAKE.”
A Google News search and additional review by Lead Stories found no evidence Disney ever issued such a policy.
Conclusion
Fact or Fiction? Fiction. Disney has not banned MAGA hats. The claim comes from a satirical website known for publishing fake stories about Disney.
