Fact Check: Does nicotine cure Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, autism, MS, and ulcerative colitis?

Media Bias Fact Check (MBFC) publishes daily vetted fact checks from verified IFCN-approved sources. Each claim is independently reviewed for accuracy and context.

Claimant: Bryan Ardis

Claim: “Nicotine cures Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, and is a treatment for autism.”

Rating: BLATANT LIE

Explanation: No scientific evidence shows nicotine cures any of these diseases. Research cited by Ardis is misrepresented, low-quality, or unrelated. Larger studies show no therapeutic benefit for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, or autism. While nicotine may slightly alleviate some ulcerative colitis symptoms, it is not more effective than standard treatments and carries significant health risks.
