Fox News Figures Criticize Trump Media Ban

Several Fox News personalities criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to bar CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House after he accused the outlets of repeatedly reporting “fake news.” Fox contributor Ari Fleischer argued that challenging unfavorable coverage was preferable to banning outlets, while chief political analyst Brit Hume agreed with criticism that the move set a troubling precedent. Fox correspondent and White House Correspondents’ Association President Jacqui Heinrich said press protections do not depend on whether a president approves of an outlet’s coverage. Press Freedom Group Condemns White House Media Ban

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press condemned President Trump’s ban on CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, arguing that excluding journalists because of dissatisfaction with their reporting constitutes viewpoint discrimination. RCFP President Bruce Brown called the action “flatly unconstitutional,” while CNN said it would continue covering the administration despite restrictions on physical access. GlobalFact 2027 Heads to Antwerp

The International Fact-Checking Network at Poynter will hold GlobalFact 2027 in Antwerp, Belgium, bringing fact-checkers from around the world together for the 14th edition of the annual conference. IFCN will organize the gathering with the European Fact-Checking Standards Network, with Lead Stories, VRT, and deCheckers also participating. Planned topics include artificial intelligence, international conflicts, cross-border scams and fraud, information manipulation, journalist safety, and mental health.
