Snopes rating: False (The number of transactions and total amount stemmed from U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden’s remarks about Treasury records related to Epstein. Bush was president and Alex Acosta was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida. The agreement was reached months before Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008.) Sen.
