(Source of the Day) DCWeekly.org: American Expat Leads Russian Disinformation Network

DcWeekly.org - Extreme Right Bias - Propaganda - Fake News - Not CredibleFactual Reporting: Low - Not Credible - Not Reliable - Fake News - Bias

In a recent review by Media Bias Fact Check (MBFC), DCWeekly.org has been identified as a questionable source of news, operating with extreme right-wing bias and low factual reporting. Founded by John Mark Dougan, a former U.S. Marine and Florida police officer who fled to Russia in 2016, the website is hosted on a server in Moscow and is suspected of being part of a broader Russian disinformation effort. Dougan’s alleged involvement in Russian propaganda is evident by the site’s persistent dissemination of misleading and false information, particularly related to the Russia-Ukraine war.

MBFC’s analysis points to DCWeekly.org’s consistent use of AI to rewrite articles without crediting original sources, pushing a pro-Russian and anti-Democratic Party agenda. The review highlights instances of fabricated stories, such as false claims about Ukrainian President Zelensky receiving U.S. citizenship and owning a mansion in Florida, as well as debunked conspiracy theories like Olena Zelenska’s supposed extravagant NYC shopping spree. Despite presenting itself as a local D.C. news outlet, the site lacks transparency in ownership and funding, further raising concerns about its credibility and intentions.

Furthermore, MBFC notes that DCWeekly.org’s content often portrays Democrats negatively and aligns with pro-Russian interests, with Newsguard suggesting it is part of a network of up to 167 imposter websites. The site has been flagged for several failed fact-checks by reputable fact-checking organizations, including false claims about Zelensky’s luxury yacht purchases and a purported assassination attempt on Tucker Carlson. MBFC rates DCWeekly.org as an unreliable source due to its extreme bias, lack of credible sourcing, and role in propagating Russian disinformation.

I appreciate your efforts in tryin to show people all the misinfo ( lies) that it seems every mag, rag, radio an tv news throws at us everyday. Imho, I think its a futile effort. When a few billionaires own and operate all of the sources n put in the people who will agree with them then the other 99 per of humans r screwed. It seems as no 1 really cares about the truth, its only about a narrative n if that narrative doesnt fit their truth thats to bad. My wife of 37 years was a RN n had to get the non vaccine to keep working, she got lung cancer shortly after (never smoked anything in her life) and it was very aggressive. I cant prove it was from the non vaccine but im my heart i believe it was because i took it to. I didnt want her to do it just to keep a job n me not take it. I now have a tumor (biopsy comin) that is wrapping around my aorta n cant b removed anyway. Its fine with me, i dont want to b on this planet anymore anyway. To much sorrow n madness for me. I dont figure anyone will get this far on my post ( sorry , geez didnt know i wrote this much) but if you do thx for reading about an ordinary working mans views about the world.
