Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers who are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

I’ve been curious to know the difference why some false items are labeled just “False” and other false items are labeled “Blatant Lie.”
False= possibly a misunderstanding of the facts or misinterpretation. It does not necessarily have bad intent.
Blatent Lie= Fake videos, made up comments, severe manipulation of data or it is inconceivable how the person or outlet could not know the Truth.
Politifact often rates Blatent Lies as False rather than Pants on Fire. We reflect that they are blatent lies when they do that.
