Two Nurses Shot in Dallas Area Hospital

A man entered Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX, on Saturday, 22 October, and shot dead two nurses near the maternity ward.  A member of the Methodist Hospital Police confronted, then shot and wounded the suspect.  Police later identified the shooter as 30-year-old Nester Hernandez, later charging him with capital murder.

Hernandez, who was already on parole for aggravated robbery, was transported to another Dallas area hospital, where he was treated for his wounds.  Hernandez had been fitted with an ankle monitor.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia released a tweet calling the incident a “failure of our justice system.”
