President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Senate Republicans would be “foolish” to try to block his proposed tariffs on goods from Mexico that are due to begin next week.
Trump spoke at a joint news conference in London with British Prime Minister Theresa May as reports emerged in the U.S. that Republicans in the Senate had begun holding discussions about whether they could muster the votes to block the president’s 5 percent Mexico tariffs from taking effect. “I don’t think they will do that,” Trump said.
