NYC declares public health emergency amid a measles outbreak in the Orthodox Jewish community

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared a public health emergency Tuesday after a measles outbreak in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn. De Blasio said the city would require unvaccinated individuals living in certain areas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to receive the measles vaccine, and violations and possibly fines could be issued to those who do not comply.

“This is the epicenter of a measles outbreak that is very, very troubling and must be dealt with immediately,” he said.

    Ads are from 3rd party advertisers. Ie. we don’t select them. Ads are derived from your search history, cookies or the content of the page you are on. If you are on a page about vaccines it is very possible you will get pseudoscience ads, etc. It sucks, but without ads we cease to exists.
