Trump plans prime-time address to nation on Tuesday ahead of border visit

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he plans to give a prime-time speech on Tuesday addressing the “humanitarian and national security crisis” at the U.S-Mexico border ahead of a visit to the border later this week.

The news comes amid a partial federal government shutdown over Trump’s insistence on $5 billion in funds for his promised wall. It is not clear how many news networks intend to carry the speech live.
