Congress averts shutdown, postponing fight over Trump’s wall

The Senate passed a bill by voice vote to avert a shutdown and fund the federal government for another two weeks. The House passed the legislation earlier Thursday.

The stop-gap measure gives Congress and President Donald Trump until just before Christmas to resolve a fight over Trump’s border wall.
