Eight to ten people were killed in a shooting at a local high school Friday morning, officials said in Texas.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Friday that one person is in custody and a second person has been detained; both are believed to be students at the school.
‘‘We hope the worst is over and I really can’t say any more about that because it would be pure speculation,’’ Assistant Principal Cris Richardson told media outlets at the scene.
The school went on lockdown around 8 a.m.
