It appears that Flynn had simply talked to Kislyak about planned economic sanctions against Russia, and then later denied having that discussion, for whatever reasons. It was certainly not illegal for Flynn to talk to the Russian ambassador, and there are no allegations that he passed along any sort of “state secrets,” etc. The fact that sanctions were being considered wasn’t a secret. How does any of this translate into “Russia stole the election?”
