VoteSafe.org is rated Right with Mixed factual reporting by Media Bias Fact Check.
RIGHT BIAS
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using an appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.
- Overall, we rate VoteSafe.org Right Biased based on its ownership and operation by America PAC, a partisan Super PAC founded by Elon Musk that supports Republican candidates and conservative political causes. We rate it Mixed for factual reporting because VoteSafe is directly operated by America PAC, which MBFC also rates Mixed due to its history of selective and sensationalized advocacy content. VoteSafe’s credibility is further undermined by limited transparency in sourcing, acknowledgment that some voter information may be inaccurate, and the extensive collection and potential sharing of users’ personal and political information.

History
VoteSafe.org is an American voter-registration and election-information website operated by America PAC, a Super PAC founded by Elon Musk. The website provides tools to register or pre-register to vote, check voter-registration status, request absentee ballots, and receive election reminders.
VoteSafe presents itself primarily as a voter-assistance website. However, its footer states that it is paid for by America PAC and is not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. Its Terms of Use explicitly identify the website as belonging to America PAC.
According to the Federal Election Commission, America PAC registered on May 22, 2024, as an independent expenditure-only political committee, commonly known as a Super PAC.

Funded by / Ownership
VoteSafe.org is operated and funded by America PAC. Federal Election Commission records identify America PAC as an active independent expenditure-only political committee. During the 2025–2026 election cycle, the PAC reported more than $50 million in receipts through June 30, 2026.
Elon Musk founded America PAC and has been its principal financial backer. The PAC has supported Republican candidates and conservative political causes through independent expenditures, voter outreach, digital advertising, and other political activities.
Analysis / Bias
VoteSafe.org functions primarily as a voter-registration and election-assistance tool rather than a news or commentary publication. Its homepage uses mostly neutral language and provides services for registration, absentee voting, voter status verification, and election reminders.
However, VoteSafe is directly operated by America PAC, a partisan political organization. MBFC has previously reviewed America PAC and rates it Right-biased with Mixed factual reporting. MBFC’s review found that the PAC promotes conservative political positions and relies on sensationalized social media content and anecdotal evidence that lacks broader context.
Because VoteSafe is not an independent voter-information organization but an America PAC-operated project, the parent organization’s political purpose and factual record are relevant when assessing the site. Although VoteSafe itself contains relatively little overt political commentary, its ownership and operation by a partisan Super PAC warrant a Right bias rating.
There are also significant transparency and privacy concerns. A Snopes investigation rated True the claim that VoteSafe.org is funded by America PAC and that the website collects and may share users’ personal information.
According to VoteSafe’s Privacy Policy, America PAC may collect names, physical addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, employment information, demographic information, internet activity, and political information, such as political affiliation, political opinions, voter registration status, and voting method.
The policy also states that information may be disclosed to business partners and third parties for marketing purposes and that some data sharing may qualify as a “sale” under applicable privacy laws. VoteSafe provides an opt-out mechanism for certain forms of information sharing.
The privacy policy specifically identifies Western Creative Group as a business partner. Snopes reported that the company has little public-facing presence and that it was previously used by America PAC for political advertising.
VoteSafe also provides limited sourcing transparency for some of its election information. The website acknowledges that information obtained from third-party sources may not necessarily be accurate and advises users to confirm voting requirements, deadlines, and procedures with state and local election officials.
Its For Organizations section also provides voter-registration tools for organizations seeking to promote registration and participation, reinforcing that VoteSafe functions as political voter-mobilization infrastructure rather than an independent civic-information service.
In general, we found no evidence that VoteSafe routinely fabricates election information. However, its direct operation by a partisan Super PAC already rated Mixed by MBFC, limited sourcing transparency, broad collection and potential sharing of political and personal data, and reliance on third-party election information reduce its factual and credibility ratings.
