History
Raskrinkavanje.me is a Montenegrin fact-checking website launched in October 2018 by the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), a nongovernmental organization based in Podgorica. According to its About page, its primary goals are to combat media manipulation, improve media literacy, raise the quality of journalism, and encourage adherence to professional media standards.
Raskrinkavanje.me is a verified member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) and is a founding participant in the regional SEECheck network. Since its launch, it has published thousands of fact checks and analyses covering political misinformation, health claims, elections, Russian and other foreign influence, historical revisionism, climate misinformation, artificial intelligence, and manipulated media.
The editorial team includes journalists and researchers such as Darvin Murić, Jovana Đurišić, Marko Vukajlović, Nina Đuranović, and others. Its Impressum also identifies CDT Executive Director Dragan Koprivica and Program Director Milica Kovačević and provides the organization’s physical address and contact information.

Funded by / Ownership
Raskrinkavanje.me is owned and published by the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), a Montenegrin nongovernmental organization founded in 2000 and registered in Montenegro’s NGO registry. CDT publicly discloses its organizational structure, projects, donors, annual reports, property holdings, and funding amounts through its Transparency page.
Funding has come from international organizations and programs including the European Union, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Fact-Checking Network/Poynter, Meta’s former Third-Party Fact-Checking Program, the European Journalism Centre, GIZ, and the Open Information Partnership. Raskrinkavanje states that donors and CDT management have no influence over the selection, conclusions, or ratings of individual fact checks.
Analysis / Bias
Raskrinkavanje.me demonstrates generally low partisan bias. Its published methodology states that it selects articles based on public interest rather than political affiliation and that it gives no political party or side of the political spectrum special treatment. Each fact check identifies the claim, provides evidence from verifiable sources, and explains the reasoning behind its rating.
For example, “Woman Who Begs Migrants and Votes Left”: The Sad Story From Paris Is Fabricated debunks a viral anti-immigration narrative claiming that migrants attacked the business of a left-wing French woman who supported immigration. The fact check traces the footage and finds that the attached political story was fabricated, rather than simply disputing the ideological position expressed in the post.
Similarly, Vaccines Are Not Poison: Science and Facts Contradict Influencer’s Claims evaluates anti-MMR vaccine claims using epidemiologists, public-health authorities, vaccine-effectiveness data, and established scientific evidence. Its health coverage consistently follows the scientific consensus rather than presenting unsupported anti-vaccine claims as equally credible alternatives.
The publication also frequently counters anti-EU, pro-Russian, nationalist, and authoritarian narratives. For example, Disinformation Instead of Criticism: How Anti-EU Narratives Are Spread Through Falsehoods examines fabricated claims concerning European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and other European leaders. This focus, along with regular coverage of human rights, racism, vaccines, and democratic institutions, produces a slight leftward or liberal-democratic story-selection tendency, although individual fact checks are generally evidence-driven rather than partisan.
Factual standards are very strong. Raskrinkavanje relies on government records, official statistics, scientific research, primary documents, expert testimony, established media sources, geolocation and image verification, and direct responses from relevant institutions. It also maintains a public corrections and appeals process, allowing publishers to challenge ratings or correct misinformation. Its IFCN and EFCSN verification provides additional independent evidence of adherence to transparency, sourcing, neutrality, and correction standards.
