Public Citizen - Left Center BiasLEFT-CENTER BIAS

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH

Notes: Public Citizen is a non-profit, liberal / progressive consumer rights advocacy group and think tank based in Washington, D.C., United States, with a branch in Austin, Texas. The organization’s priorities range from campaign finance reform to drug and auto safety and financial reform. The unifying theme is an effort to curb the impact of corporate power on American democracy. The organization was founded by Ralph Nader in 1971.

In review, Public Citizen primarily advocates for political policy that favors the left. News stories published on the website are neutral in tone and well sourced to credible media. There is no evidence of failed fact checks by this organization.

Public Citizen also writes a variety of blogs such as: Citizen Vox, Eyes on Trade, Consumer Law, and Texas Vox. Each blog is also well sourced to credible information.

Based on factual information and a moderate left wing political philosophy we rate Public Citizen strongly Left-Center biased, but High for factual reporting. (D. Van Zandt 2/2/2018) Updated (5/31/2018)
