History

Palo Alto Online is a nonprofit local news publication serving Palo Alto, California. According to its About page, “Palo Alto Online offers access to the entire contents of the Palo Alto Weekly, including back issues beginning in 1994, as well as a wide range of information about the Palo Alto area.”

Palo Alto Online is part of the Embarcadero Media Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit local journalism organization that operates newspapers and hyperlocal websites throughout the Midpeninsula and East Bay. The foundation states that its mission is to inform residents, hold government accountable, and strengthen local communities.
