LEFT-CENTER BIAS
These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appealing to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH
Liberal Mountain (LM) is an online news source run by Matt Mountain. On their About page, LM states that they are “…committed to fighting the fake news craze.”. In this, they succeed fairly well. The articles on LM are factual, well-sourced, and presented with a “just the facts” style much larger and better-known publications and journalists would do well to emulate. LM also carries some news from the right, such as their article regarding Caitlyn Jenner’s work on LGBT issues within the GOP.
There is a slight liberal bias on LM, but it is only evident in the articles listed as Uncategorized, which appear to be more op-ed pieces than news articles. LM would be rated Least Biased for the factual and straightforward reporting, but the editorial content earns them a Left-Center rating. (D. Kelley 7/19/2017)
In reviewing Liberal Mountain, I found left bias in reporting as most stories tended to favor the left and criticize the right. However, I agree with D. Kelley that all articles are extremely well-sourced and factual. I would rate this source left biased based on the story selection and political affiliation of the author. When combining the scores of both of our reviews, this source remains left-center biased but on the borderline of left-biased. (D. Van Zandt 7/19/2017)
