Analysis / Bias

GhanaWeb exhibits characteristics of a populist infotainment platform, often amplifying entertainment stories, viral content, and social media-driven narratives. For example, in the article “Solomon Owusu cautions Shatta Wale over Lamborghini controversy”, the tone is sensational and based entirely on the opinion of a U.S.-based Ghanaian activist. It includes no external links or documentation and quotes Shatta Wale’s previous claims without challenge or context. The site relies heavily on claims and direct quotes, often from celebrities.

Similarly, the story “Nobody should dare invite me to EOCO or come to my house – Shatta Wale warns Raymond Archer” is built entirely on a series of quotes from the celebrity’s social media post, lacking any verification or balance. These articles focus heavily on drama and conflict, using sensational language.

While political news does appear on the platform, it is often republished from external sources.
