History

CURE News and Clergy Blog, formerly known as Black Community News (BCN), is a conservative Christian news and opinion website published by the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), a Washington, D.C.-based public policy organization.

Black Community News originally focused primarily on news and commentary for black conservative Christians. The former BlackCommunityNews.com domain now redirects to CURENewsBlog.org, and the site’s archives contain the earlier BCN content.

According to its About page, the current publication is “not a general black news site” but a conservative Christian news and opinion blog that seeks to reach black conservative Christians while welcoming conservative Christians generally. Star Parker founded CURE in 1995 and now serves as a social policy consultant. La Shawn Barber serves as editorial director.
