LinkedIn and X Flooded With AI-Generated Posts

404 Media reports that a large share of longform content users encounter on major social platforms may be AI-generated, based on browsing data from Pangram, an AI-writing detection company. Pangram analyzed about one million posts seen by users of its Chrome extension across LinkedIn, X, Medium, Reddit, and Substack. The data found that roughly 41% of longform LinkedIn content and about one-third of longer X posts were likely AI-generated, while about one-in-ten longer Reddit and Substack posts were flagged as AI. Pangram said longer posts were more likely to be AI-generated, raising concerns that users are regularly encountering AI “slop” on mainstream platforms rather than only on low-quality spam sites. Hunter Biden Launches Substack Series on Laptop Controversy

Hunter Biden has launched a Substack series about the past seven years of his life, including the controversy surrounding his laptop. Biden said he will release chapters every few days along with a video series titled “Where’s Hunter?” In an excerpt called “The Laptop,” Biden disputed the framing and provenance of the device, saying no court or forensic examiner had certified a chain of custody that would make it evidence rather than “theater.” He also described the laptop’s contents in the context of his past addiction struggles and said he intends to tell the story in his own words. Ex-Epoch Times CFO Pleads Guilty in Money Laundering Case

Weidong “Bill” Guan, former chief financial officer of The Epoch Times, pleaded guilty in Manhattan to a conspiracy charge tied to a $67 million multinational money laundering scheme. Prosecutors said Guan’s team helped move illicit funds through bank and cryptocurrency accounts, during a period when the media company’s revenue rose sharply from about $15 million to $62 million. Guan told the court his actions were a “tremendous lapse in judgment” and acknowledged that funds passing through accounts he oversaw were likely proceeds of criminal activity.
