MBFC’s Daily Vetted Fact Checks for 04/27/2026

Media Bias Fact Check selects and publishes fact checks from around the world. We only utilize fact-checkers that are either a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) or have been verified as credible by MBFC. Further, we review each fact check for accuracy before publishing. We fact-check the fact-checkers and let you know their bias. When appropriate, we explain the rating and/or offer our own rating if we disagree with the fact-checker. (D. Van Zandt)

Claim via Social Media: “Leaked DOJ wiretap audio” from Jeffrey Epstein’s case features Erika Kirk scheduling underage girls for sexualized massages.

Snopes rating: False (The audio recording is real, but the voice is not Erika Kirk’s. A 2005 Palm Beach Police affidavit identifies the speaker as Haley Robson, an Epstein associate. The recording was part of a controlled police investigation with a victim and was not a DOJ wiretap. Social media users misidentified the voice, and the original poster later issued a correction.)

Claim by zenodo.org: Proper medical study from Nicolas Hulscher et al. shows Ivermectin + Mebendazole improves cancer outcome in 84.4% of cases

Lead Stories rating: False (Research experts told Lead Stories that the paper relies on an uncontrolled, self-reported survey with major bias, no independent verification of diagnoses or outcomes, and significant conflicts of interest. These flaws mean it cannot demonstrate that ivermectin or mebendazole improves cancer outcomes.)

Fact Check: Preprint Claiming 84.4% ‘Clinical Benefit’ of Ivermectin, Mebendazole In Cancer Treatment Is NOT A Proper Clinical Trial
