Claim by Elon Musk: The long-term goal of the so-called “Border Security” bill is to enable illegal immigrants to vote.

Reasoning: The $118 billion bipartisan border security bill focuses on securing the U.S. southern border and includes significant funding for border security and foreign military aid, with no provisions mentioning enabling illegal immigrants to vote. Furthermore, according to the U.S. government’s official information, only U.S. citizens are legally allowed to vote in federal elections, which is a right protected under the U.S. Constitution. Voter registration and voting rights are strictly regulated, ensuring that only eligible citizens can participate in the electoral process. However, it is important to note that in some rare non-federal elections, noncitizens may vote, but these instances are limited and regulated at local levels.
MBFC Rating: False. The claim lacks evidence and contradicts the actual provisions of the border security bill and established U.S. voting laws which only allow U.S. citizens to vote in federal elections, effectively debunking the assertion that the bill aims to enable illegal immigrants to vote.

You claim this assertion by Elon Musk and David Sacks is false based upon what the government says about itself. I believe the bill is going to be defeated in the House because calling the bill a “securing the border” bill does nothing to fool people into thinking it is anything but a bill to send most of the money it represents to Ukraine and Israel in order to keep both the wars raging and the people dying.
Of course the bill’s wording doesn’t say anything about what the long-term goals are of the administration that wants it passed. It seems that what Elon Musk said was his impression of what is intended to result in the long run, so isn’t this you being “thought police”?
