Trump drops his choice for intelligence chief

President Trump has dropped his plans to nominate Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe as the nation’s intelligence chief.

Ratcliffe, a Trump loyalist with little background in intelligence, had generated sparse support in the Senate amid controversy about his apparently exaggerated claims of anti-terrorism experience as a prosecutor.
