Founded in 2014, Task and Purpose (TAP) is a military centric web site that covers a wide range of military related subjects. The content ranges from current affairs to gear and gadgets, with a focus on veterans, the men and women currently serving, and their families. According to their about page “Task & Purpose is a military and veteran-focused digital media company enjoyed by millions of readers each month. Founded in 2014 by Zach Iscol, Brian Jones, and Lauren Katzenberg, Task & Purpose provides authentic reporting and perspectives on the stories that matter to military members, veterans, and the broader American public.” The full masthead can also be found on their about page.

Task and Purpose is owned by Lafayette Media Group, which bills itself as a brand that empowers and supports military and their families. The website generates revenue through advertising.

Analysis / Bias 

While the Opinion page does reveal a slight Left Bias overall, it is confined to the Opinion page, as is appropriate. Despite the sometimes controversial nature of the content covered, the articles on TAP are consistently apolitical, presenting the facts with a minimum of editorializing.
