In a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, lawyers for Dr. Blasey, who accused Judge Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers, asked to continue negotiating the details of her appearance. Dr. Blasey’s representatives said separately that she wanted to appear before the committee on Thursday, though that detail was still under negotiation.
The decision by Dr. Blasey, a research psychologist in Northern California, came after days of uncertainty over whether she would appear at a hearing.
